New Years Post

I only made one resolution and it was totally private like I didn't tell anyone and it is this: I am going to write in a blog every day.  So here's this one right now.

Vegan Devotee:

We were vegan for well over a year--kids also. It was hard but not the worst. Then we started going to the Temple. Mike and I have always leaned toward this spiritual path, we just finally made the plunge and started doing the PRACTICE. Chanting rounds, associating with other devotees, eating Prasadam, following the Four Regulative Principals... There is a wonderful, tender, and symbiotic relationship between us and the mother cow. I believe that and I'm all for it. I just don't want to participate in the mass produced Factory Farm Dairy system. So for about 8 months we attended the temple, and ate the food served and I knew it had dairy products in it, but we were still vegan outside the temple. Then Mike did some research and really thought adding milk back into at least the kids diets would be good. But I wanted to be sure we do the best for our family AND cows! I was put in touch with a raw milk dairy and we went to visit about a month ago. It's a family farm, the husband, wife and kids do all the work. We can visit any time we want and see the cows. They're gorgeous and we got to hug and pet a calf (SO CUTE!). The milk is really good and so fresh. I've been making Paneer, and I really want to try mozzerella.

doTerra:

The same friend who intro'd me to the Raw Milk Dairy, introduced me to doTerra. I had already been dabbling in essential oils from the store and other online sources. I made my own lotions and other goodies using them. But doTerra oils are THE BEST and I was sold on using them the moment I tried a blend on a wart on Simeons foot and it WORKED. I have seen these oils work like magic in my home and I love sharing them with others. The sharing part of it has turned into a business opportunity for me. It is network marketing but the big difference is: if there were no business opportunity attached, would I still buy the products? YES I sure would. The stuff is legit and it empowers people to be the healers in their own home. I'm loving it. My girls already have 5 classes scheduled this month. I need to get one in there too, and start teaching!!!  Such an exciting time.

  1. I love how you're not afraid to try something out for awhile and devote your whole self to it. Even when you decide to take another path it's always with much thought and careful consideration. I have a few resolutions this year. Thought I would keep them secret too because whenever I say them out loud I feel like it jinxes me! I'd like to write more personal posts on my blog again instead of just the book reviews. We'll see how far I get with that one! xoxo

  2. So long as you guys are healthy it's a good thing. Growing kids need calcium for them bones and teeth! I'm glad you're doing the right thing for them.

I'm rather biased against calves. Ever been woken up at the asscrack of dawn every day for a week by bobbies mooing for breakfast? And then have them get milk-drool and shitstains on you when they think your clothes give milk? Yeah, not so fun -.-

    Yay more Jenn blogging! :D
